The robots are coming…… It may sound like a line from a Sci-Fi movie, but it’s actually what CG Flooring Systems have been getting warehouse floors ready for, as we enter the new decade.
Our customer will be operating robots for their materials handling equipment (MHE) and some demanding level grinding is required to ensure the slab meets the specification for the robots to run on.
High Tolerance Floor Grinding for Robotic Systems
Working alongside our sister company FACE Consultants, who incidentally, are leading the way in floor flatness testing for robotic systems, we’ve been doing high tolerance floor level grinding to areas identified by the FACE surveyors, to bring the slab into compliance with the specification.
This kind of work may appear to be straight-forward, but in reality it is challenging, demands attention to detail and tests the skill and knowledge of our Technicians. After all, errors in the grinding can be difficult to recover and may lead to excessive grinding, which can also impact on the works programme. None of which is good for us or our customers.
Optimising the Warehouse Floor for Robots
Fortunately, as an industrial flooring specialist with a lot of experience in this area, coupled with working in tandem with a specialist consultant, like FACE Consultants, we know how to deliver the requirements with a minimum of fuss. There is still some work to be done on this particular project, but we are confident it will be completed first time around. Enabling our customer to have their robots operating at optimum speed at the earliest opportunity to best support their operation.
