Well winter might be creeping up on us quickly at the moment but CG Flooring Systems are used to working in temperatures much colder than this; and refurbishing a floor in freezer food stores are common place for the leading industrial floor repair experts.
B-Built are a Dutch company who approached CG Flooring Systems to attend to a floor on a project they had at a new site in the UK, which didn’t quite meet the tolerance levels they needed it to comply with.
Alan Yuill of CG Flooring Systems said: “This was a technically demanding job for us to work on, with the work being split over two levels. The lower floor of the unit being around 1000m2, and the upper tier being 2800m2. We were also working to a time critical schedule to get the job done quickly so the client could drop the temperature to –24oC, and get their operations underway.”
CG Flooring Systems’ solution to correct the flatness tolerance of both floors and was fast curing, to ensure the temperature could be lowered at the earliest possible chance, would be to apply an industrial pump screed system. They worked with Face Consultants on site, whose expertise for the reducing and setting of levels let CGFS successfully control the pump screed application.
“The materials we use are not only great for freezer food areas, they also give great results in warehouses and other industrial facilities where a hard wearing floor surface is required” Alan said. “Understanding floor tolerances for Free Movement and Defined Movement areas and being able to interpret them to meet the Clients’ needs are key to having a successful outcome on a project of this nature. Not everyone can offer this, so we’re often the first company people call when they’ve got a problem with the flatness of their floor.”
Alan added: “The tricky situation of doing an upper level was overcome by our team of professionals who are flexible and enjoy a challenge, and this ensured successful completion of the job once again.”
